Current Projects

Never a dull moment or enough hours in the day. Wouldn’t have it any other way. And it helps explain the infrequent updates.

On a personal note, I’m lamenting the passing of summer and warm motorcycle rides. I’ll still be getting the chilly ones any chance I get but, as previously mentioned, seems like there won’t be much time for that on my list.

The items at the top of that list are the things that I’m most interested in pursuing at the moment. The first is a couple of new programs at Gravity Janes: a Parkour Training program, and a CrossFit Intramural League competition here in Washington. We’ve drafted 7 CrossFit boxes to participate in cross-box competitions. That should launch around the beginning of 2012.

Still hard at work on Attack! Of The Paleo Kids, my health book for kids. And Accidental Health gets a lot of my attention lately. If you haven’t been to the blog recently, there are several new posts there within the last 2 weeks or so. I hope you’ll catch up with what’s been on my mind lately.

I lectured at least 3 times in 2011 and have video from those appearances. I’ll be posting excerpts from those lectures on the AH blog in the near future.

Finally, the Alive and Well Health and Sports Expo my organization is planning for 2012 needs some of my time also if it’s going to stay on track. We’re currently looking for fundraising professionals and organizational staff.

I’m traveling to Victoria, BC, November 4, 5, and 6 for the CrossFit Challenge at Taranis. One of our Gravity Janes athletes is competing and I’ve been asked to judge.

There are a couple of other media projects that I will be developing in the near future that are still a little murky in concept but will be coming into focus soon. I’ll be updating those here in the near future.

Thanks for checking in. Please visit the other internet properties listed here for more details and useful information.

The Dot Com Returns

I never really left, but my ability to manage a personal web presence has definitely been AWOL. In any case, the latest about my many ventures and interests will be found here from now on. Thanks for your patience.

So let’s start with the new book, Accidental Health. I want to thank all of you who have written to ask about the earlier work, “Treadmill To Nowhere”. That work has been updated and converted into the new more timely Accidental Health. It is one of my major projects at the moment and I will keep you posted on its progress right here. You can track it yourself on my blog site, “Accidental Health“.

Next I want to take a moment to fill you in on the health event being planned for Issaquah called “Alive And Well”. The mission of the Alive And Well organization is to join the fields of medicine, health, fitness, and sport in a united event designed to promote the benefits of an active life. The platform is a 3-day sport and health exposition featuring world-class athletic competitions and exhibitions, health-related products and services, music and entertainment. You can track the progress of this event at the Alive And Well Blog.

Finally (for this post anyway) I’m planning a bicycle ride down the length of the Oregon coast for this September. If any of you are accomplished bicycle tourists and have some advice to lend I’d love your help. This will be my first bicycle tour and I’ll need the benefit of your experience and/or knowledge.

I’m in Cannon Beach Oregon this week on a short hiatus. More details coming soon.
